Brown Rice Slow Cooker/Crock Pot Recipe
Brown rice adds a nice nutty taste to your meal. Move over white rice. Brown is here to stay.
2 cups brown rice
2 cups chicken* broth (look for low sodium)
2 cups water
1tbsp. olive oil
Kosher salt to taste (or any salt you have on hand)
Grease crock-pot/slow cooker lightly with olive oil or spray.
Add all ingredients above. Stir.
Cover and cook on High for 2-3 hours.
*Broth: others options work too -- beef, seafood, vegetable, or you may use all water.
When turned off, the crockpot/slow cooker will keep rice warm for an hour or two.
Brown rice is high in fiber and rich in anti-oxidants and more!
Brown rice can be served alone, or mixed with many dishes from meats to veggies to soups.
