Memorial Day Spicy Pulled Pork– Slow Cooker/Crock Pot Recipe!

Memorial Day  Spicy Pulled Pork!

Thanks to all the men and women who have served, sacrificed and died for our country and our liberties.  We celebrate you this weekend.

 

The Ingredients:

-4-6 pounds boneless pork shoulder or butt

-1-2 tablespoons brown sugar

-
1 teaspoon cumin

-
1 teaspoon garlic powder

-1 teaspoon onion powder

-
1 teaspoon red pepper

-1 teaspoon paprika

-1 teaspoon black pepper

 

-1 medium onion chopped

-1-2 tablespoons hickory liquid smoke

-2 cups water

 

Do this:

-Use a 5-6 quart slow cooker.

-Put meat in slow cooker.  Mix spices and rub into meat

-Top with chopped onion, and liquid smoke. Pour in water.

-Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours, or until meat shreds easily with forks.

-Season to taste –  Spices may get diluted during the long cooking time.  Taste and add additional seasonings as needed.

- Serve on toasted buns, brown rice, or whole grain pasta.
